In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, my spouse (Mark Blinder) and I opened Sandwich Therapy. A small food vendor on recently opened 34th Avenue in Jackson Heights. Mark leads the kitchen and menu, and I help with dishes, cutting vegetables, and operating our small table. Being able to spend so much time on the Open Street as a researcher and educator of sustainable urban development has been amazing. Being on the open street has allowed me to observe and collect data on sustainable urban transition on the streets of New York City.
